Updated: Nov 4, 2020

The Bristol Rovers Women’s special edition away shirt in partnership with Bristol Pride, has been recognised as the best bespoke women’s football shirt and the 9th best football shirt in the UK overall, beating the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

The shirt that celebrates inclusion and equality for those members of the LGBT Community was held in hight regards by the National Football Museum curators. The museum’s expert team pored over hundreds of shirts from Premier League, WSL, Women’s Championship and non-league and finally settled on a Top 25.

One of the museum curators said “Created in partnership with Bristol Pride, who challenge homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and promote equality and diversity. The vibrant eye-catching shirt dons a ‘Gas Girls’ club crest which features a female pirate. This is a progressive women’s team who want to establish their own identity, independent from the men’s team.”

Club Secretary and Co-Founder, Matthew Davies added; “Naturally I’m delighted to see our shirt being recognised for the positive message and values that it represents on a National stage. To see the shirt being on display at the National Football Museum will be a very proud moment for the club. The team at Bristol Pride are also delighted with the news and we can’t wait to continue our work together.”

The shirt is available to purchase from the Macron Gloucester Website.
