Bristol Rovers Women's Gas Girls Bristol Pride Football Festival Updated WEB.png

Bristol Rovers Women’s FC are proud to be working with Bristol Pride to launch our inaugural Football Festival on Sunday 3rd July at Lockleaze Sports Centre.

The event will consist of a gender diverse 7-a-side friendly tournament, welcoming all LGBTQ+, Transgender, Non-Binary, Intersex Players and Allies to take part.

The Festivities will start at 11am and will run until approx 3pm, with food and drink available to purchase at Lockleaze Sports Centre. Teams who wish to take part in the first Bristol Pride Football Festival will be able to register for free and will be welcome to bring up to 9 squad players to rotate throughout the 7-a-side festival. Spaces for teams will be available on a first come-first first-serve basis.

Gas Girls Co-Founder and Club Secretary, Matthew Davies said “Since the start of our partnership with Bristol Pride and the launch of our special edition away kit in 2019, an LGBTQ+ Football Festival has always been in the pipeline but due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, this hasn’t been achievable. So, I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that we’ve teamed up once again to get this event up and running. Community and Participation is at the heart of what we do at Bristol Rovers Women’s and we can’t wait to welcome all members of our community to take part in what will be a fantastic day.”

Bristol Pride Festival Director, Eve Russell said “We are really excited to be furthering our partnership with The Gas Girls, by supporting with their Football Tournament. We can’t wait to bring the community together to tackle discrimination and kick the prejudice out of sports.”
