Bristol Rovers Women's welcome the news that League action will restart on Sunday 11th April against Cotswold Rangers at home. The FA Women's Football board announced on Monday 14th March that football within Tier 7 of the Women's Football Pyramid can continue under the guidelines issued to the League.
In order to complete the season in some form, the Gloucestershire County Women's League have decided that each team will complete one round of fixtures in their respective Division. This means that both Bristol Rovers Women's and our Development Team will play five remaining games each to complete their fixtures in their respective Divisions, starting on Sunday April 11th.
However with the season about to resume, the Champions of the Division will not be automatically promoted to Tier 6 for the 2021/22 season. This will be determined through an application process for all teams across the pyramid with the likelihood of expanded Leagues to facilitate the extra clubs. Bristol Rovers Women's applied for promotion to Tier 6 earlier this year we'll be monitoring this situation through the coming weeks and months.
Our opening fixture on April 11th will unfortunately be played behind closed doors. We hope to welcome supporters at a later date, when restrictions continue to ease across the Country.
