The South West Regional Women's League have confirmed that all fixtures on Sunday 19th December across their respective Divisions, have been postponed. This is due to the ongoing concern of the Omicron Variant.
Communication from the League stated "The committee have discussed the current situation alongside reading the new Covid-19 [Omicron variant] guidelines from the UK Government. Bearing these in mind and with next weekend being the last before Christmas, it has been deemed prudent to cancel all next weekends’ matches throughout the league. This will hopefully ease the situation many of us are finding ourselves in with Covid cases on the rise."
At Bristol Rovers Women's, the health of all players, staff and officials is paramount and we respect the actions taken by the League to postpone these fixtures. The rescheduled date for the Downend Flyers (A) fixture will be announced in due course.
The 'Gas Girls' await confirmation of a new date for Sunday's postponed match against Cheltenham Development.
Despite our opponents being unable to raise a team and postponing the match, Bristol Rovers Women's will not receive a Home Walk-Over and the fixture will need to be replayed at a later date.
