'Gas Girls' progress into the Regional Finals of the EFL Girls Cup
The girls from Downend Secondary School, representing Bristol Rovers, have taken one step closer to Wembley Stadium after winning the Area Finals of the EFL Girls Cup on Monday.
The Utilita Girls Cup comprises of a six-a-side competition for U13 girls that culminates in a grand final prior to the Papa John's Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium. The two teams who are victorious in the North and South Regional Finals proceed to play at the Grand Final at Wembley in April.
The 'Gas Girls' will now to travel to Swindon in February for the Regional Finals after successfully overcoming teams representing Bristol City, Exeter City, Plymouth Argyle, Forest Green Rovers and Newport County.
