After an enthralling 90 minutes at SBL Sports Centre on Sunday, the 'Gas Girls' fell to their first ever league defeat against Oldland Abbotonians. The hosts held onto their early lead with Rovers unable to convert their chances, largely thanks to a superb display by The O's Goalkeeper throughout.
The Gas were also without forwards Laura Curnock & Zoe Fielden-Stewart due to positive Covid-19 tests and Annys Turner who was unavailable. All three will be back with the squad this week in preparation for our next match against Cheltenham Town Development at Lockleaze Sports Centre on Sunday 6th February.
Despite this minor blip on the road, Rovers are still sitting at the top of the South West Women's Regional League (Northern Division) and will be aiming to bounce back with another three points on the board.
