Bristol Rovers Women FC 'Open Trials - Register Now!

Updated: Mar 23, 2022

Bristol Rovers Women's are thrilled to announce that we are now accepting registrations for our upcoming 'Open Trials'. We're also happy to offer two Sunday sessions in May for the first-time. You can click here to register or get more information.

'Gas Girls' Club Secretary Matthew Davies, said: "It's been a fantastic three years for the 'Gas Girls' on and off the pitch and we're extremely excited about the future. Our 'Open Trials' are always a highlight in our calendars as it gives us an opportunity to welcome more women and girls into our set-up. Amongst the staff we ensure that we create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all players who attend and that everyone enjoys their time with us. We're always on the lookout to add to both of our squads and we're really looking forward to meeting everyone in the coming weeks and months."

The sessions are open for anyone to attend as long as they are 16+ from 1st September 2022 (Or turn 16 just after this date) and will take place at the £6m facility at Lockleaze Sports Centre, Bonnington Walk, BS7 9XF.

Sessions take place on;

Sunday 8th May / 1:30pm - 4:00pm

Sunday 15th May / 1:30pm - 4:00pm

Tuesday 28th June / 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Tuesday 5th July / 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Tuesday 12th July / 6:00pm - 7:00pm

*Players who are unable to attend these dates are urged to register anyway. We'll invite you to a session on a date that suits you.

Players are welcome to register for more than one session.

How do the sessions work?

Once you have registered for a session, you will receive a confirmation email. Each participant is welcome to register for more than one 'Open Trial' if they wish. When you arrive at Lockleaze Sports Centre for your session, a member of staff will get you signed-in and will direct you to a changing room and then onto the pitch. When our fitness coach has completed your warm-up with the rest of the squads, you will be put into your groups to take part in a session followed by some small sided and/or a full size game.

What happens after the session?

If you have been successful, a member of the coaching staff will be in touch with you shortly after to invite you in for more sessions, leading into pre-season. At this stage we can chat about your plans for the new season. If you haven't been successful, we still welcome anyone to come along to sessions once the season begins as we strive to offer footballing opportunities for all within the community.

What do I need to bring?

A comfortable/suitable kit for training

Moulded boots (For a 4G surface)

A water bottle (A water tap is available on site)
